Bob Hahesy

Who is Bob Hahesy?

Bob was one of the inaugural players and coaches of the reformed Woodside Cricket Club. He started the Under 16's team for the club and arguably the Under 16 competition for the TVCA. He coached the club team from 1981 to 1991 with 'stints' as the TCVA Under 16 coach throghout this period as well. Although he never won a premiership with the club Under 16's throughout his tenure, he did win the Calaby Shield with the TVCA Under 16's in 86/87.

As an inaugual player, he captained the B grade team to the clubs first premiership in the 83/84 season. One of Bob's initiatives as B grade captain and Under 16 coach was the 'blooding' of Under 16 players through the B grade, a sound idea, it is still a practice the club maintains to this day. Bob always had a passion and drive for developing junior players to senior level, and evidence of this is within our current senior ranks. It is the foundation that will maintain the clubs ability to remain a cricketing power throughout the hills.
